Job Requirements/Description

About the role

The Helpline Housing Caseworker (Domestic Abuse) provides direct specialist, trauma-informed housing advice and enhanced casework support to LGBT+ victim-survivors of domestic abuse, who are at risk of homelessness or unsafe accommodation. This London-wide role focuses on empowering survivors to make informed choices about their housing options, facilitating access to refuge where appropriate, and alternative safe accommodation, whilst ensuring safety, dignity, and autonomy are central to all support provided.

The Helpline Housing Caseworker will be expected to set up and develop a dedicated housing advice function within the helpline service, with the support of the Head of Helplines. This includes establishing clear advice frameworks and guidance to support victim-survivors to understand their housing rights, options, and entitlements. The role will involve providing informed guidance on a range of housing pathways, including refuge, temporary accommodation, social housing, and private rented options, ensuring advice is tailored to individual circumstances and risk. The postholder will contribute to building a consistent, high-quality advice service that enables victim-survivors to make informed and empowered decisions about their housing and safety.
