Often, the first point of contact for our clients at the Southwark Wellbeing Hub is the Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) Team - the IAG Team aim to provide support for residents who may be experiencing social-isolation, low mood, anxiety or depression. The service handles enquiries from people seeking support for a range of issues including welfare benefits, housing and homelessness, advocacy, family support, immigration, disability and legal advice in addition to accessing our in-house one-to-one mental health support offering, workshops/groups, culturally specific counselling, or housing/benefits specialists.
As an IAG Facilitator, your responsibilities include but are not limited to;
As one of two IAG Facilitators, you'll support volunteers to ensure that the service is running efficiently. You will be in regular contact with clients both interested in and accessing the service to make sure they have adequate support. This may include referrals and signposting to additional or alternative mental health and social support services.
Applicants should have experience of providing advice in benefits and housing, managing a diverse caseload and providing advocacy, and possess effective communication skills. An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and show initiative is essential for this role.
Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
