Sports Coach / Behaviour Mentor

- Salary: £105 - £120 per day, depending on experience

We are seeking a dynamic Sports Coach / Behaviour Mentor to join our team at a SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school in East London. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in sports coaching combined with experience in behaviour mentoring within a school setting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive sports sessions that cater to the needs of students with SEMH.
- Use sports as a medium to teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and discipline.
- Act as a behaviour mentor, providing support and guidance to students, helping them manage their behaviour and emotions effectively.
- Work closely with teaching staff to integrate physical education with overall student development plans.
- Monitor and evaluate students' progress in both sports and behavioural aspects, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage students who may be resistant to traditional learning methods.
- Maintain a safe and positive environment for all students, promoting healthy lifestyles and well-being.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Sports Coach, ideally within a school environment.
- Experience working as a Behaviour Mentor or similar role, particularly in an SEMH setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trust and rapport with students.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective sports sessions that are adaptable to the needs of students with varying abilities.
- A proactive and resilient approach to dealing with challenges.
- Relevant qualifications in sports coaching, physical education, or related fields.
