Children's Support Worker (Temp to Perm)

We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our valued clients for experienced and compassionate Children's Support Workers to join a dedicated team supporting children and young people in a residential setting in Southend-on-Sea .

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people. The role begins on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent.

The Role

As a Children's Support Worker, you will:

Provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to children and young people.
Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
Build positive, professional relationships with young people.
Support with daily routines, education, appointments, and recreational activities.
Encourage positive behaviour and follow individual care plans.
Complete accurate records and reports.
Work as part of a supportive and professional team.

Requirements

Previous experience working with children or young people in a residential or supported living environment.
A caring, resilient, and patient approach.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable (or willingness to obtain one).
Full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.

Eligibility

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK .
This role is not available for candidates requiring Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.

Pre-Employment Checks

As this role involves working with children and young people, successful applicants will be required to complete safer recruitment checks, including:

A full employment history/CV covering all periods since leaving school, with any gaps in employment explained.
Two satisfactory professional references.
One satisfactory personal reference from someone who has known you for a minimum of five years (who is not a family member).
An Enhanced DBS check (if not already held on the Update Service).
Proof of Right to Work in the UK and satisfactory identity documentation.
