Job Requirements/Description

Domestic Bursar, Green Templeton College

Green Templeton College is a friendly, progressive and international graduate College within the University of Oxford. Formed through the merger of Green College and Templeton College in 2008, it is a distinctive college that makes new traditions rather than defending existing ones.

Based on its Woodstock Road campus surrounding the Radcliffe Observatory, the College brings together approximately 650 students, 250 fellows and 90 staff. It has an inclusive, egalitarian and collaborative culture, and students, fellows, staff, alumni and guests are welcomed as part of a shared community.

Green Templeton College is looking to appoint a new Domestic Bursar. Reporting to the Bursar and working closely with the Principal and other members of the Executive Management Group, the postholder will lead and manage the operational teams that provide a wide range of services for the College.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of an ambitious Oxford College at a time of growth and change, as the College undergoes significant renovation projects, and expects soon to be embarking on the delivery of a transformational masterplan. The Domestic Bursar will contribute at both strategic and operational levels, while ensuring that day-to-day services are consistent, cost effective and high quality. They will be responsible for catering, accommodation, lodge and events teams, as well as operational risk, health and safety and regulatory compliance, amongst other things. They will support the College through ongoing building projects

The successful candidate will bring significant leadership experience at senior strategic and operational levels. They will be an outstanding communicator with a service ethos, analytical judgement, and will be an empathetic leader. They will have experience of managing complex budgets. They must be aligned with the College's progressive and egalitarian values. Experience of operations in an Oxbridge college would be helpful, but not essential; the College welcomes candidates from a broad range of relevant backgrounds.
