Basic annual earnings: £22,500
Performance bonus: Up to £1,200 annually - up to £300 per quarter

About Future Survival
Future Survival is an activity centre in Gravesend offering modern and retro gaming, gaming parties, STEM and coding sessions, tabletop activities, Warhammer clubs and physical activities including laser tag, archey, nerf and more .
We welcome families, schools, home-education groups, youth organisations and businesses. We are developing our education programmes and training offer, and we are looking for someone who can organise engaging sessions, support our team and help these programmes grow.
About the role
You will lead the preparation and delivery standards of our gaming and education area, reporting to the Centre Manager and working alongside our Senior Activities & Events Lead.
This is a hands-on supervisory role. You will regularly run gaming sessions, parties and clubs, support participants and help customers. You will also take responsibility for allocated shifts once trained and assessed.
You will coordinate education programmes and specialist instructors, and deliver sessions yourself where appropriately trained and competent.
Scheduled daytime administration and preparation blocks form part of your contracted hours. These will include programme planning, customer enquiries, school and home-education follow-ups, and administration for our developing training-course programme.
Your responsibilities
Gaming and programme delivery
- Personally deliver gaming sessions, parties and clubs within your training and competence.
- Create an engaging, welcoming environment for different ages, abilities and levels of experience.
- Check computers, consoles, games, room layouts and session resources before customers arrive.
- Carry out routine technical checks and updates, and escalate faults requiring specialist support.
- Organise gaming, tabletop and Warhammer session readiness, working with knowledgeable staff or facilitators where needed.
- Coordinate STEM and coding resources, session plans and specialist instructors.
- Deliver education activities where you have the relevant skills and have completed the required training and assessment.
- Support school visits, home-education sessions and holiday programmes.
Supervising shifts and supporting staff
- Act as the named duty person on allocated shifts, within your assessed competence and agreed authority.
- Brief staff, allocate tasks and check that preparation, delivery and closing work are completed.
- Coach hosts in gaming sessions, customer support and routine equipment checks.
- Help induct new staff and maintain accurate training and competency records.
- Coordinate with the activities and events team for combined parties and group bookings.
- Resolve routine customer concerns and escalate significant issues to the Centre Manager.
- Provide clear handovers and help maintain consistent standards across shifts.
Supporting business growth
- Help develop practical school STEM, home-education, gaming and group-session offers.
- Contact suitable schools, education groups and other organisations as part of an agreed outreach plan.
- Handle enquiries and prepare booking information using approved packages and prices.
- Follow up previous visitors and encourage repeat bookings and programme enrolment.
- Monitor attendance and customer feedback, identifying opportunities to improve existing sessions.
- Record enquiries, follow-up actions and booking progress in the agreed system.
- Provide approved content and useful programme information to support marketing.
- Work with the Centre Manager to grow bookings while considering staffing, resources and delivery costs.
Daytime administration and customer support
- Answer telephone and email enquiries during allocated administration blocks.
- Check programme bookings, participant requirements and upcoming session arrangements.
- Support reception and retail customers when appropriate.
- Prepare resources and complete agreed operational tasks.
- Use scheduled time to develop education and course bookings as well as prepare existing sessions.
What we are looking for
- Experience leading groups, supporting learning or supervising customer-facing shifts.
- A practical interest in gaming, technology or creative education.
- Confidence engaging children, adults and people with different support needs.
- Reliability, good organisation and the ability to follow tasks through.
- Ability to give clear instructions and support less experienced staff.
- Good customer service skills and confidence handling enquiries.
- Willingness to contact organisations, follow up opportunities and help develop bookings.
- Confidence with computers, email, booking systems and digital records.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and safe working.
- Availability for the agreed daytime, evening, weekend and school-holiday pattern.
Experience with STEM, coding, Minecraft Education, LEGO robotics, tabletop gaming or Warhammer would be useful. Experience in schools, youth work, leisure, gaming venues or education programmes is also welcome.
You do not need to be an expert in every platform or programme. Training needs and the balance between direct teaching and instructor coordination will be agreed during induction.
Your place in the team
The Centre Manager owns overall staffing, rotas, budgets and centre performance. You own gaming and education readiness and delivery standards, and direct staff during your allocated duty shifts.
Pricing changes, significant spending and formal employment decisions are referred to the Centre Manager or Director.
Pay and performance bonus
The role pays £13.50 per hour for 32 guaranteed paid hours per week, equivalent to £22,500 gross annually.
You will also be eligible to earn a performance bonus of up to £300 per quarter, giving a maximum annual bonus of £1,200.
