Facilities Manager
Location: Theale, Berkshire
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum

The Opportunity
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing organisation seeking an experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the maintenance, compliance, and operational efficiency of its facilities in Theale.
This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth running of all building services, infrastructure, contractor management, health & safety compliance, and facilities-related projects. The successful candidate will play a vital part in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-performing working environment while supporting future business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Building Management
- Manage the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and upkeep of buildings, services, and infrastructure.
- Develop and implement planned preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure facilities remain safe, compliant, and fit for purpose.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and asset performance.
- Coordinate reactive maintenance and resolve operational issues efficiently.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety legislation and building regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Manage statutory testing and certification requirements.
- Promote a strong safety culture throughout the business.
- Ensure contractors operate safely and in line with company procedures.
Project Management
- Lead facilities improvement projects, refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades.
- Manage project budgets, timelines, and stakeholder expectations.
- Support office moves, layout changes, and workplace improvement initiatives.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in a Facilities Manager, Building Manager, Estates Manager, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of facilities management principles, building maintenance, and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing contractors and external service providers.
- Excellent knowledge of health & safety legislation and risk management.
- Experience managing facilities budgets and controlling costs.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and facilities management systems.
Desirable
- Facilities Management qualification (IWFM, BIFM or equivalent).
- NEBOSH, IOSH or relevant Health & Safety qualification.
- Experience leading facilities improvement or refurbishment projects.
- Knowledge of sustainability and energy management initiatives.
