This is a full time, permanent contract position.

The salary for this role is £74,000 per annum.

The location of this role is Cambridge, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing

The Regional Director is the senior representative of Historic England across the East of England and a powerful and public advocate for Historic England, the historic environment and the positive part heritage plays in society. In this role, you will lead HE staff based in the region to improve lives by championing and protecting the historic environment. You will support Historic England's national work by driving the development and delivery of corporate projects and policies.

  • Experience of influencing and collaborating with a wide range of partners
  • Experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience of initiating and leading projects within a strategic framework
  • Good judgment in the application of policies to practice in the context of public service
