We're working with a highly respected independent practice in Milton Keynes seeking an experienced Contact Lens Optician to join their specialist clinical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a CLO who is passionate about advanced contact lenses, myopia management, and dry eye care, within a progressive and highly clinical environment.
The Role
This is a specialist contact lens-focused position where you will be central to delivering and developing advanced services, including:
Specialist Contact Lens Work
- Bespoke contact lens fittings tailored to individual patient needs and lifestyles Complex and irregular cornea fittings Advanced daily disposable and speciality lens designs Ongoing aftercare, review and optimisation of lens performance and comfort
Ortho-K (Overnight Vision Correction)
- Fitting and managing orthokeratology lenses for myopic patients
- Supporting patients to achieve clear, glasses-free daytime vision
- Monitoring fit, outcomes and long-term success
Myopia Management (Children & Teens)
- Delivery of evidence-based myopia control strategies
- Multifocal contact lenses, Ortho-K and specialist spectacle lens options
- Long-term progression monitoring and patient education
- Use of axial length measurements to track and support treatment outcomes
Dry Eye / Tear Film Clinic
- Detailed ocular surface and tear film assessment including:
- Tear break-up time
- Tear prism height
- Lipid and aqueous layer evaluation
- Meibomian gland assessment and meibum quality analysis
- Identifying root causes of dry eye disease
- Developing tailored, structured treatment plans beyond standard lubricating drops
Advanced Technology
You'll be working with industry-leading diagnostic equipment, including:
- Topcon MYAH for axial length measurement and myopia progression tracking
- Advanced tear film and ocular surface diagnostic tools
- Modern instrumentation supporting high-level contact lens practice
This allows for truly evidence-based, measurable patient care and long-term management outcomes.
We are looking for a qualified Contact Lens Optician who:
- Has experience in contact lens practice (specialist or hospital background advantageous)
- Is confident with complex fittings or keen to develop into advanced specialty work
- Has an interest in myopia management and Ortho-K
- Enjoys dry eye and anterior segment work
- Wants to work in a highly clinical, progressive independent setting
- Is patient-focused with strong communication and care skills
