Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are working with a number of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Lambeth seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide classroom and pastoral support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, graduates considering a career in education, psychology or social work, and individuals with relevant experience supporting young people.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with additional learning needs
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Help students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and targeted interventions
  • Support students' social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning
  • Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational, care or support setting
  • Are patient, empathetic and resilient
  • Have strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Are adaptable and responsive to the needs of individual students
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting young people and promoting inclusion

Previous experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs or learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
