The Role of a Learning Mentor in Hemel Hempstead

As a Learning Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional emotional, social and behavioural support. You will become a trusted and consistent adult in their school life, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to engage with learning.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, develop positive relationships with pupils and work alongside teachers and wider support staff to ensure every child receives the encouragement and guidance they need.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs.
  • Build strong, trusting and positive relationships with children.
  • Support pupils with emotional regulation, self-esteem and social development.
  • Implement appropriate strategies to help children overcome barriers to learning.
  • Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide consistent support.

You will ideally have:
