Salary: £14.87 per hour
Hours: 20 hours per week Monday to Friday 2.15pm to 6.15pm
Contract: Permanent Term Time

Are you passionate about working with children and creating engaging experiences that help them thrive? Oakfields Preparatory School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Assistant to join our friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in pupils' daily school experience, providing a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment where children can relax, have fun, build friendships and develop confidence after the school day.

As an After School Club Assistant, you'll help deliver high-quality wraparound care, ensuring every child feels safe, supported and encouraged to take part in a range of exciting activities.

Working alongside a dedicated team, you'll help create positive experiences that support children's wellbeing, independence and social development while maintaining the highest standards of care and safeguarding.

What you will be doing

  • Welcoming and supervising pupils at the end of the school day.
  • Supporting a variety of fun, creative and age-appropriate activities.
  • Preparing and serving healthy snacks and refreshments.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour, inclusion and friendship-building.
  • Supporting pupils' emotional wellbeing and confidence.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and engaging environment.
  • Keeping attendance records and following collection procedures.
  • Assisting with the set-up and tidy-up of club areas and resources.

What you will bring

  • The ability to encourage participation, independence and positive behaviour.
  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child wellbeing.

Experience working with children in a childcare or school setting with a NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or related qualification is desirable.
