Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced International Freight Operator to join their operations team and play a key role in delivering exceptional service to customers worldwide.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight professional with strong import, export, and customs clearance knowledge. Working within a busy operations team, you will be responsible for managing international freight shipments from start to finish, ensuring customer requirements are met efficiently while maintaining compliance with customs regulations and industry standards.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and transport providers, while managing the smooth movement of goods across international markets.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage import and export shipments from booking through to final delivery
• Coordinate and monitor international freight movements across air, sea, road, and multimodal services
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, carriers, and agents
• Prepare and issue quotations for import, export, and cross-trade shipments when required
• Provide regular shipment updates and reporting to customers
• Review customs documentation and complete customs clearance processes, including import entries and NES submissions
• Resolve pricing queries, operational issues, and customer concerns, escalating where necessary
• Handle ATA Carnets, temporary importation procedures, and other specialist customs requirements
Skills & Experience Required
• Minimum two years' experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or international transport operations
• Proven experience managing both imports and exports from start to finish
• Strong customs clearance knowledge and practical customs entry experience
• Experience across road freight, air freight, and international logistics operations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proactive and organised approach with the ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously
