HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver Technician

We are recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver Technician to join a growing environmental and industrial services business operating in Portsmouth.

This is a hands-on, multi-skilled role combining tanker driving, specialist cleaning, and technical operations - ideal for someone with experience working around tankers, pumping systems, or marine environments.

The Role

You'll be responsible for a range of tanker and environmental duties, including:

Driving and operating vacuum tanker vehicles
Carrying out pumping, servicing, repair, and cleaning of tanks, bilges, compartments, and ship systems
Completing high-pressure jetting and specialist cleaning work
Leading and organising teams on-site to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently
Completing job sheets, documentation, and customer sign-offs
Working in line with waste management, PPE, tanker regulations, and Health & Safety procedures
Supporting service engineers and liaising with customers on-site
Maintaining high cleanliness and professional standards at all times

This role can involve confined space work, fire sentry duties, and specialist industrial cleaning , so flexibility and a strong work ethic are essential.

What We're Looking For

Valid HGV Class 2 licence
Driver CPC & Digital Tacho Card
ADR licence (if held) beneficial
Experience operating:
Vacuum tankers / Pressure washers / Pumping systems
Knowledge of: Ship systems / Specialist tank & bilge cleaning / Confined space working / MAR pack procedures
Confident using hand tools and carrying out practical, hands-on work
Strong communication and organisational skills
Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work under pressure
