Head of Digital Health Products

Charity People is delighted to be partnering with Prostate Cancer UK to recruit the organisation's first Head of Digital Health Products.

Most men diagnosed with prostate cancer will be asked to choose between two or more different treatment options - weighing different survival odds and side-effect profiles at an incredibly stressful time. Treatments can significantly impact quality of life and mental wellbeing, leaving many men navigating life-changing side-effects. There is a critical need for personalised, accessible support whilst making treatment decisions and beyond.

As Head of Digital Health Products, you will lead the development and delivery of innovative digital solutions that help more men understand their risk; navigate diagnosis and treatment; access trusted support; and feel more in control of their care.

Contract: Permanent role working four or five days per week, with flexible working options considered

Salary: £71,750 per annum

Location: Hybrid role between home and the London office, with a minimum of four days per month in the office at London Bridge

We are looking for an exceptional person to join Prostate Cancer UK as Head of Digital Health Products. You'll set the product vision, roadmap and outcomes for customer-facing digital products, building a team that brings together user insight, co-design, product delivery expertise and strategic leadership to deliver inclusive, accessible and measurable impact at scale.

Reporting to the Director of Health Services, Equity and Improvement, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, your core responsibilities will include:

• Establish customer-facing digital products as a new organisational function. You'll define how it works, where it adds value and how it supports Prostate Cancer UK's 10-year strategy.
• Build a high-performing team to deliver digital health products.
• Set and communicate a clear vision for new digital health products, connecting men's lived experience, user needs, organisational strategy and measurable outcomes.
• Contribute to and participate in strategy, planning, budgeting, decision making and evaluation.
• Be an active and dedicated member of the Health Services, Equity and Improvement leadership team, supporting Heads of teams and collaborating across the department and wider organisation.
• Act as product owner for new customer-facing digital product innovations, ensuring your team have a roadmap and manage backlog decisions about what to build, improve, pause or stop.
• Provide senior product and service design leadership across discovery, design, delivery, testing, launch, evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Use data, insight and evaluation to define outcomes, track performance, demonstrate benefits and inform decisions.
• Help stakeholders understand where AI can (and crucially can't) add value to products.
• Champion inclusive, accessible and user-centred design, making sure digital products work for diverse communities and help reduce inequalities.
• Work closely with service delivery, clinical, policy, influencing, communications, fundraising, data, technology and governance colleagues to create joined-up customer experiences.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, building confidence and alignment across senior leaders, delivery teams and building highly effective external partnerships.
• Be accountable for performance management of your team, working with people leaders to achieve positive results and develop skills and capabilities.
• Oversee supplier and partner relationships where relevant, making sure external delivery supports standards, values and strategic objectives.
• Identify risks, dependencies and opportunities across the customer-facing digital products portfolio, escalating issues and recommending solutions where needed.

We would love to see applications from candidates with the following skills and experience:

• Significant experience leading digital products from concept through to delivery and continuous improvement, ideally in health or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience establishing, shaping or significantly developing a new team, function or product area, including onboarding new staff and driving new ways of working.
• Strong product leadership skills, including owning a product or service vision, roadmap, outcomes and backlog in a complex organisation.
• Experience using co-design, user research, service insight, analytics and evaluation to shape decisions, improve products and demonstrate outcomes.
• Excellent understanding of user-centred design, inclusive design and accessibility, with a commitment to equity and reducing inequalities in health outcomes and access to support.
• Able to make prioritisation decisions that balance user needs, organisational strategy, resources, delivery constraints and measurable impact.
• A confident communicator and facilitator, able to influence senior leaders, build alignment and bring clarity to complex areas of work.
• Ability to actively lead on Prostate Cancer UK's commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion and allyship.
