A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Thurrock from September 2026.

This role would suit someone who enjoys working closely with children and wants to play an active part in their academic, social and personal development. You'll work alongside teachers and the wider support team, helping pupils feel confident in the classroom and providing additional support where it's needed.

The position runs throughout the academic year, making it a great opportunity to gain consistent classroom experience while becoming a valued member of the school team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist teachers with lessons, activities and day-to-day classroom routines
• Provide focused support to pupils individually or in small groups
• Help children stay engaged and motivated throughout their learning
• Reinforce key skills and support pupils who require additional guidance
• Encourage positive behaviour and respectful relationships
• Help pupils develop confidence and greater independence
• Prepare learning materials and assist with classroom organisation
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure pupils receive appropriate support

The Person We're Looking For

• Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school
• A genuine interest in helping children learn and develop
• Patient, approachable and encouraging in your manner
• Confident communicating with pupils and school staff
• Able to adapt your approach to suit individual children
• Reliable, proactive and comfortable working as part of a team
• Passionate about creating a positive classroom experience
• Willing to contribute to the wider life of the school
