Deputy Service Lead

We're looking for an exceptional organiser, problem solver and people person to join us as our Deputy Service Lead.

This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of our organisation. Working closely with our Service Lead and Operations Manager, you'll help ensure our services run smoothly, our teams are supported, and every student receives an outstanding experience from their very first enquiry through to becoming part of our community.

No two days are the same. One day you might be welcoming a new student and supporting their transition into services, the next you'll be leading our transport team, improving an internal process, coordinating recruitment, or helping implement new systems that make life easier for colleagues and better for the people we support.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of several key areas that keep our charity running successfully, including:

• Leading and supporting our transport team to deliver a safe, reliable and person-centred service.
• Coordinating referrals, admissions and onboarding, ensuring every new student receives a warm, organised and individualised introduction to Baked Beans.
• Managing recruitment administration, onboarding, DBS checks and key HR processes to provide an excellent experience for new and existing colleagues.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and governance through effective systems, documentation and record keeping.
• Helping improve the way we work by developing new processes, supporting service improvements and finding practical solutions to everyday challenges.
• Supporting in incident response and reporting including being a Designated Safeguarding Lead
• Working closely with colleagues, families and professionals to ensure our services remain organised, responsive and centred around the needs of our students.

About you

We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, thrives in a busy environment and genuinely loves making things happen.

You'll be someone who:

• Is highly organised and naturally keeps lots of moving parts on track.
• Enjoys improving systems and finding better ways of working.
• Builds positive relationships with ease and communicates confidently with a wide range of people.
• Can balance attention to detail with seeing the bigger picture.
• Is calm under pressure, practical in approach and diligent in follow up
• Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality - discrete and professional, with previous experience of supporting HR administration (whilst a formal qualification is not essential)
• Shares our commitment to inclusion, dignity and providing outstanding support for people with learning disabilities.
