Brentwood, Essex September 2026 Secondary School - History Teacher Monday - Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm Pay: MPS/UPS (depending on experience) Applications close: 30/08/26 Interviews: CVs are being reviewed throughout the Summer Term, with interviews and trial days taking place ahead of September. We are working with a well-regarded secondary school in Brentwood, rated GOOD by Ofsted, that is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic QTS History Teacher. The school is committed to delivering a broad and engaging Humanities curriculum, encouraging students to think critically, analyse historical events and develop a lifelong appreciation of history.

Job Overview:

• This school caters for students aged 11-16.
• Full-time, Monday - Friday, History Teacher.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
• Inspire students through creative and thought-provoking teaching that develops historical knowledge, analytical skills and independent thinking.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress to ensure strong attainment and positive outcomes.
• Create a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all students can succeed.
• Work collaboratively with the Humanities department and wider school team.
• Contribute to curriculum development, intervention programmes and enrichment opportunities, including educational visits and extracurricular activities where appropriate.

What we're looking for:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• A degree in History or a closely related subject.
• Experience teaching History across KS3 and KS4 within a secondary school.
• A passion for History and the ability to engage, motivate and challenge learners of all abilities.
• Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
• A proactive, positive and collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
