Are you passionate about working with children and creating a positive start to their day? Oakfields Preparatory School is looking for a caring, enthusiastic and reliable Breakfast Club Assistant to join our friendly team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to play an important role in pupils' daily school experience, providing a safe, welcoming and engaging environment before the school day begins. You'll help children settle into their morning routine, enjoy a healthy breakfast, socialise with friends and start the day feeling happy, confident and ready to learn.

Working alongside a dedicated team, you'll help deliver high-quality breakfast club provision while maintaining the highest standards of care, wellbeing and safeguarding.

What you will be doing

• Welcoming and supervising pupils before the start of the school day.
• Preparing and serving healthy breakfasts and refreshments.
• Creating a warm, friendly and inclusive environment for all children.
• Supporting a range of fun, calm and age-appropriate morning activities.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and social interaction.
• Supporting pupils' wellbeing and helping them start the day positively.
• Maintaining attendance records and following safeguarding procedures.
• Assisting with the set-up and tidy-up of the breakfast club area.

What you will bring

• A genuine passion for working with children.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• The ability to remain calm, positive and professional in a busy environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• An understanding of the importance of safeguarding and child wellbeing.

Experience working with children in a childcare or school setting is desirable with an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare, or a related qualification.
