Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and helping them achieve their full potential?

We are working with a number of inclusive and supportive secondary schools across Bromley seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to provide tailored support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, Speech & Language needs, SEMH and moderate learning difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEN Teaching Assistants, graduates considering careers in education, psychology or social work, and individuals with relevant experience supporting young people in care, youth work or community settings.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with additional learning needs
  • Support teachers in delivering engaging and accessible lessons
  • Help students access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals
  • Assist with the implementation of EHCPs and personalised support plans
  • Support students' social, emotional and behavioural development
  • Encourage confidence, independence and participation in learning
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff and families
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN in an educational, care or support setting
  • Are patient, resilient and empathetic
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Are adaptable and able to respond to individual student needs
  • Work effectively as part of a team
  • Have a genuine passion for inclusion and supporting student success

Previous experience supporting students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language needs or learning difficulties is desirable but not essential.
