Legal Secretary/Paralegal

Location: SuttonJob Type: Full-Time - fully office basedSalary: £25k-£30k

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Residential Secretary / Paralegal to join a busy and well-established legal practice. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will provide direct support to a senior fee earner, assisting with a varied residential property caseload from instruction through to completion.

This role is well suited to an organised and proactive individual who is comfortable managing competing priorities.

• Provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the conveyancing team
• Open, maintain, and archive client files (both electronic and paper-based)
• Undertake client onboarding processes in line with AML requirements
• Review and check correspondence, legal documentation, and reports
• Prepare key conveyancing documents including TR1, AP1, and SDLT forms
• Complete audio typing and draft professional correspondence
• Manage incoming and outgoing communications, ensuring timely responses
• Monitor emails and post on behalf of the fee earner
• Assist in billing processes, including generating and issuing invoices
• Identify and resolve issues to ensure matters progress efficiently

• Previous experience within residential conveyancing, ideally including post-exchange matters
• Experience supporting a busy fee earner within a legal environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong typing ability
• Experience using a case management system (DPS advantageous but not essential)
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage workload independently
