The successful Nursery Room Leader will be responsible for the following duties:
- Minimum of 2-3 years' experience working in a nursery or early years setting
- Prior experience in a senior, supervisory, or room leader role preferred
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and current childcare legislation
- Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Safeguarding/Child Protection training
- Strong understanding of child development stages and safe practices
- Experience conducting observations, assessments, and progress reports
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, parents, and staff
- Enhanced DBS check (or equivalent background check) required
- Leadership or team management experience is an advantage
What You Will Be Doing as a Nursery Room Leader
- Promote high standards of quality within the nursery
- Support and supervise playroom staff with their day-to-day duties
- Deploy staff appropriately to ensure that the required standards are delivered and maintained within the rooms
- Ensure the effective implementation of the nursery keycarer procedures and allocate children to keycarers appropriately
- Ensure that practice and provision in the nursery meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Provide professional, relevant feedback to parents and carers about their child
- Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers
- Develop open and positive working relationships with staff
- Ensure that all staff develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with parents and carers
