Location: Ware, Hertfordshire

Salary: £32,000 to £36,000, plus overtime

Term: Permanent, 40 hours per week, plus overtime

Our client is looking for someone to deliver and install office furniture at customer sites. You'll also deliver materials for commercial fit-out projects, as well as carrying out minor installation and maintenance tasks. This is a practical role where you'll meet customers and work on site.

This is not a 9 to 5! There will be early starts, late finishes and some evening and weekend work. You'll work 40 hours a week, over Monday to Saturday as required. Overtime is paid at time and a half. The company asks for flexibility and will be flexible in return.

The role of Handyman

• Deliver and install office furniture at customer sites.
• Deliver materials such as plasterboard and ceiling tiles to fit-out sites.
• Check that furniture is fitted properly and work is finished to a high standard.
• Work on office fit outs, installing units, partitioning, painting, flooring etc
• Plan deliveries with the team, handle materials safely and complete job paperwork.

To be successful in the role of Handyman

• Experience in furniture fitting, installation or a similar practical trade role.
• Any joiner or carpentry experience would be an advantage.
• A valid UK driving licence.
• A friendly, professional manner with customers.
• Good practical problem-solving skills and pride in your work.
• Confidence with physical work and manual handling, both alone and with a team.
• Flexibility for early starts, late finishes and work from Monday to Saturday as required.

Joinery, electrical or other trade experience would be an advantage.

A full security check, including a DBS check, will be carried out for this role.

The salary and package for the Handyman role

• £32,000 to £36,000 per year, depending on experience.
• Permanent role, working 40 hours per week.
• Overtime paid at time and a half for hours above 40 per week.
• 22 days holiday, plus Christmas shut down, plus bank holidays.
