We are partnering with an established, tech-driven business looking for a Senior Linux Infrastructure Engineer with deep-rooted systems expertise. If you have spent your career mastering enterprise Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky Linux) and love the challenge of infrastructure engineering, this role offers the perfect blend of complex systems management and modern platform engineering.

The client is looking for a core Systems Administrator at heart-someone who understands the kernel, OS internals, and core networking-but wants to use a massive £95k budget to deploy cutting-edge automation. Rather than hiring a pure software developer, they want an infrastructure professional to spearhead their modern toolkit.

What you'll be doing:

• Enterprise Linux Engineering: Take ownership of the security, performance, and scalability of an enterprise-grade RedHat/RHEL and Rocky Linux estate.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code: Use Terraform and Ansible to design, automate, and orchestrate server provisioning and configuration management across the board.
• Scale Container Platforms: Help manage, scale, and modernise their enterprise container environments using Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Bridge to DevOps: Act as the ultimate bridge between traditional, robust infrastructure and modern DevOps pipelines, ensuring maximum uptime and automated efficiency.

What we are looking for:

• Deep Linux Administration: A heavy, multi-year background in enterprise Linux administration, with strong exposure to RHEL, CentOS, or Rocky Linux platforms.
• Automation Mastery: Practical experience using Ansible and Terraform to turn manual infrastructure processes into clean, automated code.
• Container Exposure: Strong familiarity with or a desire to deeply master Kubernetes or OpenShift.
• The SysAdmin Mindset: High proficiency in shell scripting (Bash/Python) with a focus on deep infrastructure stability, troubleshooting, and systems optimization.
