LCV & HGV Technician

WTL Truck & Van Centres is the Renault Trucks and Van franchise arm of Welch Group, a fourth-generation family logistics business that's been keeping Britain moving since 1934. We were Renault's first EV-compliant service dealer in the UK, we run one of the country's first electric HGV fleets, and our workshop at Duxford is busy, well-equipped and getting busier.

We're looking for Technicians to join the team - whether your background is light commercial vehicles (vans) or heavy goods vehicles (trucks and trailers), we'd like to hear from you. This is a hands-on role in a proper workshop, working on modern kit including the latest electric vehicles, with genuine training and progression behind it.

What you'll be doing

Servicing, maintaining and repairing LCVs and/or HGVs, trailers and ancillary equipment
Carrying out safety inspections, MOT prep and preventative maintenance to keep vehicles roadworthy and off the hard shoulder
Diagnosing faults - mechanical, electrical and diagnostic - and putting them right first time wherever possible
Completing job cards, defect reports and digital records accurately (first-time fixes and clean paperwork matter to us)
Working safely and tidily, and lending a hand across the team when it's busy

What we're looking for

A time-served technician, ideally with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or IMI in Heavy or Light Vehicle Maintenance - but experienced, capable people without the certificates will absolutely be considered
Solid diagnostic ability and a right-first-time mindset
A full driving licence (HGV/Class C licence a bonus for road testing, but not essential)
Someone reliable, safety-conscious and a good team player who takes pride in their work

We also have a satellite workshop in Bedford.

Pay: £45,500.00-£60,000.00 per year
