Job Requirements/Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Surveyor to play a key role in leading our asset services function, as our Asset Performance Manager. In this pivotal role, you will lead the team overseeing the investigation and resolution of non-routine repairs, disrepair claims, damp and mould issues, and planned replacements. You will bring a proactive, resident-focused mindset, always putting our customers first, and working collaboratively across departments to ensure we continue to provide homes that give stability, are safe and provide warmth to our customers.

Your accountabilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Take ownership of challenging repairs, disrepair cases, structural issues, and major defects. You will lead our response to the delivery of our Awaab's Law obligations -delivering real results for our residents while balancing quality, compliance, and value for money
  • Lead on strategic asset management workstreams and provide technical and expert advice to Gateway Housing on complex or sensitive service delivery improvements and provide recommendation reports to senior management.
  • To participate in the call-out arrangements throughout the year to deal with dangerous structures and take direct action where appropriate to safeguard the public.
  • Lead the delivery of the Awaab's Law case management as subject matter expert on the legislation and emerging changes
  • Ensure effective delivery of the planned investment programmes, ensuring customer engagement and satisfaction with the end product

Experience and Skills

  • BSc in Building Surveying / higher diploma level or suitable alternative professional qualification or commensurate experience (e.g., RICS or equivalent)
  • Comprehensive understanding of UK housing and construction regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to analyse and accurately evaluate a broad range of data and information relating to delivery of a proactive repairs service
  • Ability to carry out surveys and inspections of buildings and accurately diagnose faults and defects across a wide range of trades and disciplines
  • Experience of leading a team or acting in a supervisory position.
