The Role
The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the secondary phase, ensuring all pupils receive the support and challenge required to thrive academically and personally.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
Coordinating EHCPs, intervention strategies, and learning support plans
Working closely with teaching staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership
Supporting inclusive teaching practices and staff training
Monitoring student progress and maintaining high standards of pastoral care
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO qualification) - mandatory
Proven SENCO experience within a UK secondary school setting
Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
Full Right to Work (RTW) in the UK

Applicants without the NASENCO qualification will not be shortlisted.
Applicants must already hold the legal Right to Work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available for this role.

Salary: £45,000 - £68,000 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications
