The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Town Planner to join an established and respected planning consultancy based in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for a planner looking to develop their career within a supportive consultancy environment, gaining exposure to a broad range of planning projects and working closely with clients, developers and local planning authorities.

Requirements

• Degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline
• Previous experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
• Good understanding of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines
• Commercial awareness and a client-focused approach
• Ideally working towards or interested in achieving MRTPI status
• Full UK driving licence would be advantageous

Responsibilities

• Preparing and submitting planning applications
• Providing planning advice to clients
• Undertaking planning appraisals and research
• Assisting with planning strategies and development proposals
• Liaising with local planning authorities and other stakeholders
• Supporting senior planners on larger and more complex projects
• Monitoring planning applications and providing clients with regular updates
• Assisting with appeals and other planning matters where required
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
