Interim - Senior Finance Business Partner

£400-£500 per day 4-6 months ASAP start London/Hybrid

A leading research and higher education organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Senior Finance Business Partner to provide strategic financial support across its professional services functions and key transformation programmes.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning & Strategy, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to strengthen financial planning, improve management information and identify opportunities for efficiencies and better use of resources.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting and five-year financial planning across professional services.
• Providing strategic financial insight, constructive challenge and advice to senior stakeholders.
• Supporting complex, multi-year strategic and capital programmes.
• Developing business cases, scenario models and cost-saving initiatives.
• Improving management information, dashboards and reporting through Power BI.
• Strengthening financial controls, cost allocation and interdepartmental recharges.
• Supporting budget holders to improve financial understanding and accountability.
• Mentoring junior finance colleagues and managing a Finance Apprentice.

The successful candidate will be:

• A fully qualified accountant: ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA.
• An experienced senior Finance Business Partner with strong budgeting, forecasting and analytical skills.
• Confident engaging with directors and other senior stakeholders.
• Experienced in developing insightful reporting and using BI tools, ideally Power BI.
• Comfortable working across multiple departments and strategic programmes.
• Able to start quickly and deliver effectively within a complex organisation.
• Experienced within higher education, research or the charity sector, although this is not essential.
