SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding opportunity in a welcoming Junior School in Barnet? This SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for a SEN Teaching Assistant who is patient, compassionate and committed to helping children reach their full potential. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support, help pupils access the curriculum, encourage positive behaviour and build their confidence and independence. If you are an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about education and wants to make a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have excellent communication skills, a calm and nurturing approach, and the ability to build strong relationships with pupils. You should be proactive, adaptable and confident working as part of a busy school team. Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.

The Role

  • Supporting pupils with SEN on a one-to-one and small-group basis
  • Assisting pupils with their learning and classroom activities
  • Helping to implement individual support plans
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
  • Encouraging pupils' confidence, independence and social development

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school setting
  • Experience supporting children with SEN is highly desirable
  • Patient, caring and resilient
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive and proactive attitude
  • Passionate about supporting children and helping them succeed
