Salary: The starting salary is £55,662, which includes allowances totalling £3,009.

The salary is broken down as £52,653 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £57,417. Plus, a location allowance of £2,009 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

The role Location: Sydenham

As an Operational Engineering Co-ordinator, you'll play a crucial part in protecting London. You'll join a specialist engineering team responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering temporary CCTV deployments that directly support operational policing. Your work will help officers respond faster, act smarter and stay safer.

You'll be joining a friendly and collaborative team of around 50 engineers responsible for designing, developing, building and deploying a wide range of technical solutions, primarily supporting surveillance and operational policing activities. Within this wider function, you'll work within a team of around ten engineers and technicians coordinating resources, equipment and deployment activity across London.

This is a hands-on technical role combining operational support, engineering knowledge and supervisory responsibility. You will work with temporary CCTV systems, electrical infrastructure, public-space technology and specialist equipment used in frontline policing environments.

The role involves field deployment across London, so a full UK driving license is essential, with willingness to obtain C1. Operational demand may require occasional work outside standard business hours. Due to the sensitivity of the systems you will support, you must hold or be willing to obtain MV/SC security clearance, with potential for DV if required.

• Proven leadership experience and skills
• Relevant technical or engineering background (qualification or practical experience)
• Experience in electrical installation, testing, inspection and relevant legislation
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Effective collaboration with internal teams, suppliers and stakeholders
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain MV/SC security clearance
• Flexibility to support operational demand, including work outside standard hours when needed
